It’s time to say goodbye to 2014 and I always find it bittersweet. Every year is loaded with memories, most worth taking into the future but others that are best left in 2014.
All in all it’s been a good year for Los Baltasar and we are in a happy place but that doesn’t mean that we don’t want more for 2015.
Looking back on 2014 there have been some pretty amazing moments. We started the year off with travels and we do love to travel. Avila, Segovia and Toledo.
Then in February we had some renovations done at Pastrana Palace. There are still not many after pictures because we are awaiting the arrival of our brand new sofa. It took a while for us to reach an agreement.
A huge change for me this year was switching from books to Kindle. We have run out of shelf space and it was a necessary evil. I still visit book shops and touch and look through the real thing but now I download to Kindle. It might not have the same romantic intellectualness as the real thing but I can honestly say that in 2014 I have read more books than the last 10 years put together so surely that is a good thing.
Not everything turned electronic. This year I got back into knitting and I can now knit a pair of chunky socks while my boys watch a football match. Yes they are very chunky and not the favourite ever sock pictured below that took about 2 weeks to make the pair.
The end of fourth grade was a blast this year. What a great show that they put on. Move over Broadway… the new Cats are here.
Keeping up with tradition we had the best party ever to celebrate Sweet Baby Love turning 10. To see him growing up with such a happy character and with a fantastic group of friends is priceless.
10 was celebrated a lot this year, first with friends and then with family.
Then came our long awaited Summer holiday to Scotland. Happy times indeed.
For the last 4 years the last weekend of September takes me to some European city to spend my time shooting and talking photo with some camera loving friends. This year took us to Lisboa, beautiful colourful capital city of Portugal. Where to in 2015?
Sweet Baby Love mastered some guitar tunes this year, the fave being Hotel California. 2015 will probably see a switch to electric guitar.
2014 has seen some amazing sport achievements. Here is Team Princess Margaret with their latest medals. Lots of gold!
Growing up is all very well but some of the special moments for me as a Mamasita are when Sweet Baby Love finds a box of some of his old toys and they come back to life and take up the dining room floor. He’s still my baby for a bit longer.
So my dear friends lets move into 2015 in happy spirits and as they say here is Spain I would like to wish each and every one of you “Salud y Alegría para el 2015”. With good health and happiness the world is ours. Happy 2015!
