It all started in Prague a few years ago and now it’s a long awaited annual event. The last weekend in September is reserved for a European get together with a bunch of talented photo loving ladies and it’s one of the highlights of my year. Last year took me to Amsterdam and this year Lisbon was the chosen city.
Lisboa, a city full of light and colour that you instantly fall in love with.
When you think of this city the colour that comes to mind in yellow. The characteristic trams add the extra touch of colour to an already colourful city.
Then there are the graffiti artists present in so many places that take art into their own hands and add their own touch of colour, sometimes enhancing, other times not so much.
The weekend is mostly about photography, where we can exchange creative ideas and comment techniques and camera love but it’s also about the local culture and of course food and shopping.
See what I mean about colour, it’s absolutely everywhere. The buildings, the party decorations, the tiles, it’s all about the colour.
Another Lisbon characteristic is the views. They have many “miradouros” that usually have a pretty tram that takes you to the top so you can take in the views.
And believe me that photography isn’t the only talent among this group. Walking up or down, forwards or backwards or maybe sideways?
And the best thing is that everyone looks equally fantastic behind the camera as well as in front of it. Strike the pose ladies, help us practice in full midday sun.
Smile everyone, it’s time for a group selfie.
And then after all the planning and waiting the weekend is over in the blink of an eye. Time to start thinking about next year… Berlin, Budapest, Reykjavik… wherever, it will be equally amazing.
Thank you for a fun packed and memorable weekend to you all, I look forward to our next get together. and in the meantime I will wander through your blog posts about Lisbon.
